CN308 Organizational CN and Case Study Facilitation Semester Project 3

CN308: Part III CASE STUDY FACILITATION

You are the “chapter expert” who can offer the most detailed understanding of the key concepts related to your personal case and their relevance to Organizational Communication. Your responsibility in this section of the semester project is to lead the other members of the course to the same level of understanding that you have.

Apply relevant concepts from at least three (“C” work) of the chapters you used to analyze your personal case. Create supplemental material a facilitator or instructor could use to achieve key learning outcomes that your case aims at. If you chose to cover four or fives chapters in your Case Analysis (Part II), you are not obligated to cover all of those in the Case Study Facilitation (Part III) but you may do so to produce “B” or “A” work.

PART I: Case Glossary

Provide a short descriptive definition for each relevant concept that you believe prepared students would apply to your case. These concepts must all be used in the Summary section of this facilitation guide. Alphabetize the items.

Create a separate section for each of the three to five chapters that are your focus.

PART II: Case Summary

Briefly summarize your case situation in one paragraph for each chapter to be covered in this Facilitation, using all of the relevant concepts from that chapter being illustrated in your case. All of the concepts used in the Case Glossary must be briefly explained and linked to case in this Summary section.

Create a separate section for each of the three to five chapters that are your focus.

PART III: Case Discussion Planning

Provide for each chapter covered, at least two good questions to guide a discussion. (No yes/no, no fill-ins, no quiz- type questions.) These are questions that would guide discussants to comprehend and apply concepts.

Provide acceptable discussion responses appropriate for each of these. (If you find that your answers are yes, no, or simply words or phrases, then re-think your questions as they do not lead to good, in-depth discussion.

Create a separate section for each of the three to five chapters that are your focus.

PART IV: Case Assessment

Provide an objective quiz consisting of five multiple choice, fill-in, or short-answer questions for each of the chapters covered in this Facilitation. Provide an answer key for each.

Create a separate section for each of the three to five chapters that are your focus.

PART V: Case Citations

Provide a bibliography (APA 6th ed.) that correctly cites each chapter relied upon to complete this Facilitation.
